Tekashi69 must not have gotten a good grip on that cop’s hand back in May — allegedly, of course — ’cause his felony assault on a police officer charge didn’t stick … TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us Tekashi’s felony assault on an officer charge was reduced to a basic misdemeanor assault charge. Tekashi was facing up to 7 years in prison before. Now, he’s just facing up to a year in jail.
As we reported … Tekashi was booked for assaulting a police officer earlier this year after a traffic stop quickly escalated. Cops say he was being taken into custody when he allegedly squeezed a lieutenant’s hand very hard, causing it to swell.
We’re told the alleged injuries were not severe enough to warrant a felony charge, so prosecutors decided to reduce it.
It’s good news for 6ix9ine, if you ask us … he’s already got his hands full in Texas. Last thing he needs is another reason for NYC authorities to be breathing down his neck.
