According to report, the 69-year-old actor and his wife Alejandra Silva welcomed their little bundle of joy in New York ‘a few days ago.’
Richard Gere is reportedly a second-time father, after wife Alejandra Silva gave birth to a baby boy “a few days ago”.
The “Pretty Woman” star and Alejandra wed in April (18), and rumours began that they were expecting their first child together in the summer – with the pair confirming the happy news in September.
According to Spain’s Hola! magazine, the pair welcomed a son in New York “a few days ago”, with further details about the tot’s name and birth weight yet to be revealed.
Alejandra, who is an avid social media user, has also yet to comment on the reports on her Instagram page. Her last post on the site was three days ago, when she commented on her love of “recipes with new flavours that drive us crazy at home”.
The baby boy is Richard’s second – he has an 18-year-old son, called Homer, from his marriage to model and actress Carey Lowell, which ended in 2013 after 11 years. Alejandra also has a child, a son named Albert, from her marriage to Govind Friedland.
Richard, who will turn 70 in August, married the Spanish publicist and activist, 36, at his ranch outside New York City in April.
“I’m the happiest man in the universe,” he told Hello! magazine after the nuptials. “How could I not be? I’m married to a beautiful woman who is smart, sensitive, (and) committed to helping people, who’s fun, patient, who knows how to forgive, who’s a great cook – and who makes the best salads in the world!”
The couple was introduced by a mutual friend when the Chicago actor stayed at Alejandra’s family-owned hotel in Positano, Italy, in 2014. They reportedly became engaged in November, 2017.
