Making an appearance in the rappers’ lavish music video are T.I., Nipsey Hussle, PnB Rock, Mustard, Shy Glizzy and more.
After much anticipation, Meek Mill has finally released the music video for his Drake collaboration “Going Bad”. Making its way out on Thursday, February 8 as promised, the visuals features the rapper channeling mafia bosses and flaunting their lavish lifestyles. Kid Art served behind the lens, with Zachary Wright producing.
Several scenes from the clip show Meek and Drake racing through the street in their Rolls Royce Phantoms before eventually crashing into each other. There’s also a scene of them strolling through what looks like a lavish hotel alongside T.I., Nipsey Hussle, PnB Rock, Mustard, Shy Glizzy and more. It makes the two look like they are the leaders of the gang.
Meek and Drake are later seen horse race gambling, with the latter betting his fancy timepiece, cigar smoking and huge stacks of cash. All of them seem like they are having a good time, as Meek spits about his current status in the rap game while Drake raps about how he recently broke The Beatles’ record for the most top ten hits on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart within a year.
“Going Bad” is among the material on Meek’s latest album “Championships” which debuted atop Billboard 200 chart. It marks his first collaboration with the Canadian rapper ever since they officially squashed their beef in September 2018, when the Philly native appeared at Drake’s concert in Boston to perform “Dreams and Nightmares”.
In a November 2018 interview with Vulture, Meek described how the two eventually reconciled after beefing for some time.
“I think it took both of us going through some ups and downs, me in my career. It made me stronger,” he said. “I’m moving off love right now, so it was only proper to link with someone I actually did business with before and called my friend before… What we did was genuine. We didn’t just do it for the love of the people ’cause we could’ve been done that. We waited until we were ready and did that.”
