As if she’s not already leading in hair, music, fashion and life goals, R&B soulstress Solange just gave us all one more reason to adore her free-spirited individuality with a celebratory twerk on top of her stretch limo.
Solo’s impromptu limo twerk-down was in honor of her Parsons Benefit Award granted to her in acknowledgment of her artistry and influence, joining the likes of other honorees such as Gucci president and CEO Marco Bizzari and Farfetch founder and CEO José Neves.
The A Seat at the Table artist received the accolade at the 70th annual Parsons Benefit Gala in New York City, as her other stellar industry mate talents like Missy Elliott, Erykah Badu and Pharrell spoke to her deserving of the honor. Media personality icon and actress La La Anthony and California rap wunderkind Vince Staples presented her with the award, highlighting her “remarkable sense of authenticity.”
“I think she really just does fashion her way and has taught a lot of people not to be scared of taking chances or taking risks, to wear whatever you want—as long as you feel confident in it, you can pull it off,” the Power actress recognized of Solo’s fashion virtue.
And if the video of Solo and friends busting it down in a twerk jubilee right out of the roof of her limo didn’t prove Anthony and Staples’ commemoration of her to be true, we don’t know what does.
