The ‘A Star Is Born’ actress was reportedly very disappointed that she was left in tears after losing the coveted award to Glenn Close.
Lady GaGa was shockingly robbed of the best actress award at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards and it was the 32-year-old star herself who took it the hardest. The Ally Campana depicter in “A Star Is Born” was reportedly very disappointed after losing the coveted Best Actress – Motion Picture Drama title to Glenn Close.
Despite maintaining her cool throughout the rest of the show, GaGa “was flipping the f**k out afterwards and literally in tears” after the Sunday, January 6 ceremony, according to Radar Online’s source. The source added, “When she lost she could hardly contain her tears. She was not happy at all and had to take a breather after to contain herself. She never thought she would lose to Glenn Close!”
Of how confident she was that she’s going to take home the prize, the source revealed, “She had her acceptance speech ready and written and rehearsed and was certain that she was going to come home with several awards.” The source continued sharing, “GaGa was asked countless times what she was going to do when she wins and had it in her head that this was in the bag.”
While losing the best actress award, the “Born This Way” hitmaker didn’t come home empty handed as she won a Golden Globe for Best Original Song for “Shallow”, which she co-wrote with Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt for the musical drama film. “She is grateful, obviously, for ‘Shallow’ taking home the award, but she was really certain that the movie would take home a bunch more,” said the source.
GaGa was certainly not the only one upset by her loss. Some fans rooting for her have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment at the result. “I WAITED 4 HOURS FOR LADY GAGA NOT TO WIN BEST ACTRESS IN A DRAMA?!?!” one tweeted.

GaGa appeared to console herself with some cereals after the huge disappointment. Her fiance Christian Carino posted on Instagram a picture of the “American Horror Story: Hotel” star lying in bed with a box of Fruity Pebbles next to her and a half-eaten bowl on top of a sheet while she clutched her Golden Globe. “what a rager,” he jokingly captioned it, adding a heart emoji.
GaGa previously had won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Miniseries or Television Film in 2016 for her role on “AHS: Hotel”.
