Cardi B has gotten the support of her favorite singer following the backlash that she receives over her Best Rap Album win at the 2019 Grammy Awards. Lady GaGa jumped to the femcee’s defense by sharing on Twitter on Tuesday, February 12 that the latter deserved the award, which she got for her debut album “Invasion of Privacy”.
Alongside a picture of them interacting inside Staples Center in Los Angeles, the Grammy-winning singer/actress wrote, “It is so hard to be a woman in this industry. What it takes, how hard we work through the disrespectful challenges, just to make art. I love you Cardi. You deserve your awards. Let’s celebrate her fight. Lift her up & honor her. She is brave.”

Her tweet of support has been met with positive responses from fans, with many demanding that the two of them collaborate in the future.
Cardi herself has defended her win with a rant video she posted on Instagram. “I f***ing worked my a** off, locked myself in the studio for three months, didn’t go to sleep in my own bed, sometimes for four days straight – pregnant!” the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker said in the clip, before deactivating her account.
Cardi was named the winner of Best Rap Album after defeating the likes of Mac Miller, Nipsey Hussle, Pusha T and Travis Scott (II). Looking noticeably freaked out over her win, she told her husband Offset during her acceptance speech, “Babe, I can’t breathe.”
“I’m sorry, I just… Ooh, the nerves are so bad! Maybe I need to start smoking weed,” she later joked, before honoring her daughter Kulture. “I wanna thank my daughter. When I found out I was pregnant, my album was not complete. We had to get this album done so I could shoot these videos while I’m still not showing. It was very long nights.”
