Talks of a possible Destiny’s Child reunion have kept fans on the edge of their seats since late 2017 when they speculated the ladies would reconvene for what we have all come to know and love as the epic 2018 Beychella performance.
The surprise Coachella set kept DC fans satisfied for the time being, but it also swelled the yearning for an exclusive reunion from the iconic, late ‘90s-established R&B girl group. And even after the California music fest, the anticipation is still killing them, but one-third of the trio, Kelly Rowland, is putting fans out of their misery with her thoughts on the possibility of a Destiny’s Child homecoming.
Kelly dropped in with Austrailia’s TODAY to catch up on all of the latest surrounding her new music, her role as a coach on The Voice, and the dangerously-anticipated DC reunion. She’s pretty good at keeping secrets, jokingly to host Richard Wilkins’ dismay after he picked a bone with her about hiding that Coachella performance from him.
She admitted that she couldn’t share the details on that surprise, but for an actual Destiny’s Child reunion, Beyoncé, Michelle and herself hadn’t visited the possibility just yet.
“It’s not anything we talked about,” she said. “Michelle is getting ready for a wedding, Bey and Jay are on tour, and I’m gearing up for a record.”
She said that all of the ladies are in a genuinely good place, but just because it’s not currently in the works doesn’t mean it’ll never be.
“No plans,” she concluded, “but never say never.”
We can hear DC fanatic fingers’ crossing now.
Listen to her tidbit on that fan-raved reunion and the possibility of another one in the video below.
