As Kehlani is known as a queer, one fan speculate that the music video will be about Kehlani crafting and bringing her lover to life. But the singer was quick to debunk the theory, replying to the said fan, “Nope… I was just being nice… theory is sweet tho.”

It’s unclear whether the new song will be included on Kehlani’s upcoming mixtape. Last year, she announced that her mixtape would be coming in early 2019. “After all the touring I got home and started an album, which resulted in completing a mixtape in a month (all while pregnant as hell lmaooo) that will be coming early next year,” she said at the time.

The upcoming mixtape, which still doesn’t have a title, will be a follow-up to her debut studio album “SweetSexySavage” which was released on January 27, 2017. In addition to receiving mainly positive reviews from music critics, the 17-track recorded debuted at No. 3 on Billboard 200 and was certified gold by the RIAA. It was also listed in Pitchfork’s “Best 50 Albums of 2017” and Rolling Stone’s “20 Best R&B Albums of 2017.”

In support of the album, Kehlani embarked on a world tour which kicked off on February 21, 2017 in Montreal, Quebec and concluded on November 18 of the same year in Mexico City, Mexico.
