Besides the ‘A Star Is Born’ stars, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings have been confirmed to perform ‘When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings’ from ‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs’ at the February 24 ceremony.

Another A-list artist has been added to the list of musical performers at the upcoming 91st Annual Academy Awards. Lady GaGa and her “A Star Is Born” co-star Bradley Cooper have been confirmed to perform “Shallow”, which is featured in the musical drama film. Announcing this, The Academy simply tweeted on Friday, February 1, “Cooper. Gaga. ‘Shallow.’ #Oscars.”

In addition to the aforementioned on-screen couple, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings have been booked to sing “When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings” from “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs”. “We’re excited to welcome @GillianWelch and David Rawlings to the #Oscars stage to sing ‘When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings’ from ‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs’,” read another tweet posted by The Academy.

The four acts join Jennifer Hudson, who was earlier announced to perform “I’ll Fight”, written by Diane Warren, which is featured in documentary “RBG”. Additionally, the Academy has teased that “a surprise special guest” will perform “The Place Where Lost Things Go” from “Mary Poppins Returns”.

The latest announcements confirm previous report which stated that the upcoming Oscars would feature performances of all five best song nominees, instead of just two as it was initially reported. “Shallow” and “All the Stars” from “Black Panther” were the chosen two songs, because there wouldn’t time enough time to perform all five songs in a streamlined show.

But the Academy has apparently changed its mind following criticisms from viewers. The performer for “All the Stars” is not announced yet, though. The song is originally performed by Kendrick Lamar and SZA, who also co-wrote the track.

Variety recently reported that the show’s producers also wanted members of Queen to open the event with one of their hits included in the movie “Bohemian Rhapsody”, but the offer has been turned down.

The 2019 Academy Awards will be held on February 24 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles without a host, following Kevin Hart’s withdrawal. Lady GaGa and Bradley Cooper are among nominees for Best Actress and Best Actor, respectively, while the movie “A Star Is Born” is nominated for Best Picture.
