At the 2019 Golden Globes, which took place on Sunday, January 6, Chris Pine presented the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille award. The award went to his “Hell or High Water” co-star Jeff Bridges, who he said “made eccentric characters truly iconic.”

“Jeff has set a standard of excellence,” Pine said of Brigdes. “He’s made eccentric characters truly iconic — and yes, I am talking about ‘El Duderino’ — and ordinary characters extraordinary and noble.”

“I’m so challenged up here, because there’s so many people to thank,” the winner shared after given standing ovation for the career achievement award. After thanking to his family members in attendance, he revealed that he arrived while wearing his late father, Lloyd Bridges’, cufflinks in celebration. “We’re alive! We can make a difference!
