After a declaration from J. Prince, Kanye West and even Diddy on Drake and Pusha T’s hip-hop warfare, the GOOD Music president and emcee has publicly waved his white flag.
Perhaps not out of defeat, but to focus on a much larger picture at hand.
King Push’s newly featured interview with Vanity Fair lays it all out, as he succinctly announces that he’ll be walking back his “surgical summer” for the Young Money rap star.
“These conversations have been had and, to my knowledge, it’s all over,” he said of any further contention with Drake. “It’s all over with.”
Despite everyone crowning Pusha with a victory over Drizzy, he admitted that he didn’t know “what was lost or what was gained” from the feud and even agreed “for sure” that Drake’s run putting out No.1 chart-smashers will go on forever (contrary to Ice Cube’s belief).
“I mean, listen: I’m ready to be back to the music for real,” he said after also revealing that he’s content with the beef’s cessation. “Just feeding my base, that’s it. That’s the most important thing to me at all times.” Thankfully, the Daytona artist never allowed the flare-up with Drizzy to distract him either, he added earlier in the interview. For him, it’s just allowing the game’s nature to run its course.
“I feel like everything happens for a reason,” he said. “This is a part of hip-hop. It’s a part of hip-hop that my fans actually love.”
Peace be upon us, hip-hop world.
