Elizabeth Banks, who takes the helming duty, shares behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming movie starring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska.
After months of production, the first official look at “Charlie’s Angels” reboot has been finally revealed online. Shared by the movie director, Elizabeth Banks, the image was released on the day they wrapped the filming.
The black-and-white photo posted on Banks’ Instagram account on Tuesday, December 11 features her and the three lead actresses, Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska, sharing a group hug. The ladies were all smiles, while Banks’ back faced the camera.
“That’s a wrap,” the “Pitch Perfect” star announced in the caption. She added, “So much love and gratitude to these Angels #kristenstewart @naomigscott and @ellabalinska @charliesangels #charliesangels #bts #attitudeofgratitude #NextNovember why did I wear such a big hat #smiles #love #femalefilmmakers.”
“Charlie’s Angels” reboot centers on the next generation of Angels working for the mysterious Charlie. The Townsend Agency has grown considerably and gone global, providing security and intelligence services to a wide variety of private clients. The security and intelligence service has many teams, with each team led by a different Bosley.
Banks, Patrick Stewart and Djimon Hounsou play Bosleys, with “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” fame Noah Centineo being cast as another Bosley who develops romantic sparks with one of the three Angels. Sam Claflin and Luis Gerardo Mendez also join the cast.
In addition to directing and starring in it, Banks co-writes the latest draft of the script with Jay Basu based on earlier versions by Craig Mazin and Semi Chellas. Banks and Max Handelman are producing under their Brownstone Productions banner, along with 2.0 Entertainment’s Doug Belgrad and Elizabeth Cantillon.
The movie was initially set to be released on September 27, 2019 in the United States, but has been pushed back to November 1, 2019 to fill the date vacated by “Wonder Woman 1984”. The “Wonder Woman” sequel itself has been rescheduled for a June 5, 2020 release.
