The first winner of season 1 of the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ spin-off is set to be announced at the end of the episode.
In the Sunday, December 9 episode of “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” season 1 saw the four remining dancers taking the stage for the last time. The first winner of the “Dancing with the Stars” spin-off was announced at the end of the episode. Let’s find out who took home the Mirror Ball Trophy.
In the episode, the dancers, Mackenzie Ziegler, Ariana Greenblatt, Sky Brown and Miles Brown, reprised a favorite dance throughout the season with their mentors joining. Later, they hit the ballroom to perform a freestyle routine to a special holiday-themed song.
First to take the stage were Mackenzie and her partner Sage Rosen. Joined by mentor Gleb Savchenko, the two performed a Cha Cha to “What If” by Johnny Orlando & Mackenzie. They earned a 28 out of 30. It marked an improvement as they got a 27 previously.
Following it up with a Jazz to “Rolex” by Ayo & Teo were Ariana, Artyon Celestine and mentor Brandon Armstrong. After earning a 28 the first time around, this time the judges, Adam Rippon, Valentin Chmerkovskiy and Mandy Moore, gave them a perfect score.
Up next were Miles and Rylee Arnold. Featuring mentor Lindsay Arnold, their performance saw them performing a Salsa to “Who Let the Dogs Out” by Baha Men. They previously got a 22 for the dance, but this time, they showed off a vast improvement with getting a 28.
Sky and JT Church, alongside mentor Alan Bersten, reprised their week on Salsa to “Light It Up” by Major Lazer featuring Nyla & Fuse ODG. The pair only got a 22 at that time, but they made a perfect redemption as they were given a perfect score by the judges.
For the Freestyle dance, Mackenzie danced to “Drummer Boy” and got a perfect score. As for Ariana, she and Artyon opted for a performance to “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch”. The pair earned a 28.
Miles and Rylee followed it up, hitting the stage with a perfomance to “Sleigh Ride”. The judges loved it so much as they gave the pair three tens for a perfect score. Rounding out the night were Sky and JT. The adorable pair danced to “Underneath the Tree” that earned them a perfect score.
Now, it was time to announce the winner. After combining the judges’ score and the audience’s votes, Sky and JT were crowned as the winners!
