Bad things happened to Peter Weber ahead of the filming of new season of “The Bachelor”. The new leading man of the ABC datings show was involved in a “freak accident” in Costa Rica that left him needing stitches on his face.
According to Radar Online, during a game of golf on Monday, October 7, Peter fell and hit his head on multiple cocktail glasses, splitting his head open. “He went to step on the cart but fell and and split his face open on two cocktail glasses he was carrying,” a source revealed.
The 27-year-old pilot reportedly traveled two hours to a hospital for an operation in which he received 22 stitches on his face. Another source said that Peter “is pulling through” following the incident, which was said to be taking place just one day before the women who would be competing for his love in his season were supposed to arrive in the country.
However, fans didn’t have to be worried so much about Peter since he’s doing “100% OK,” according to the show’s host Chris Harrison. Taking to his Instagram account, Chris updated fans about the new star of the show in addition to addressing “some wild claims and rumors” about Peter.
“Peter suffered a freak accident. He got a cut on his head, he did get stitches but he’s 100% OK and production is already back underway,” Chris shared. He went on saying that Peter was “still the dashing, handsome pilot we’ve all dreamed of.”
Peter was announced to be new “Bachelor” during the season finale of “Bachelor in Paradise” back in September. “It’s still hitting me right now, and I feel so grateful right now just to have this opportunity in front of me,” Peter told Chris at the end of the reunion episode. “I feel emotional right now. This is crazy. This is life-changing. I have truly, my entire life, looked forward to finding my girl, and that first person that I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with. … I have all the faith in the world that this can work for me, and I know it’s going to.”
New season of “The Bachelor” with Peter is scheduled to premiere in January 2020.
